The Board of Directors of Bank Julius Baer & Co. Ltd. have voted to appoint Boris F.J. Collardi as chief executive officer of Bank Julius Baer.

He first joined the bank back in 2006, following the 2005 acquisition by Bank Julius Baer of GAM and a trio of private banks, and brought him with long-term experience from a twelve year stint with Credit Suisse.

Collardi played an instrumental role in the successful integration of the new acquisitions.

Collardi, who is presently chief operating officer, will succeed Johannes A. de Gier in the role on 1 May of this year.

De Gier will retain his post as GAM Holding Ltd.’s chairman.

Board chairman Raymond J. Baer explained that the election result was unanimous, reflecting the strong support for Collardi’s appointment.

Baer went on to state that Collardi’s long background in private banking, coupled with his extensive experience, made him an ideal candidate for the post of CEO.
