JPMorgan has hired Shaun Parkes in the newly created role of head of Worldwide Securities Services, Asia excluding Japan.
He has worked for the firm for the last six years, and prior to joining JPMorgan held posts with major European banks Deutsche Bank and HSBC.
Parkes relinquishes his previous post, held with JPMorgan London, of global head of depositary receipt sales and client management, and will report directly to Laurence Bailey, Asia-Pacific CEO of Worldwide Securities Services.
Parkes will be located in Hong Kong, and joins the regional management team of Jane Perry, Roger Brown, and Ravikanth Konteti, responsible for Australia, Japan and India respectively.
Bailey has welcomed the appointment, stating the move had been made as the firm alters its approach to take account of its expanding customer base in Asia.
