Lazard appoints International vice chairman

Lazard Ltd has announced the appointment of Brian D. O’Neill as Lazard International’s new vice chairman.

O’Neill, who assumes his post with immediate effect, was most recently a deputy assistant secretary in the US Treasury Department.

Earlier in his career he worked for JPMorgan Chase as head of Investment Banking in Latin America and Canada, and has decades of experience in the financial sector.

O’Neill is based in New York and will collaborate closely with Signatura Lazard in Brazil and MBA Lazard in Central and South America.

Lazard’s president, Charles G. Ward, III, has expressed his delight at the appointment, describing O’Neill as a highly regarded professional with extensive experience working with governments, financial institutions and corporate clients around the world.
