Asset manager and financial services advisory firm the Blackstone Group has announced that it has recruited Ambassador Gérard Errera in the capacity of special advisor, effective from 1 April of this year.

For five years Errera served as French ambassador to the UK, and has also worked as the secretary general of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Errera will sit on the International Advisory Board and be based in Paris, where he will primarily be tasked with the development of business initiatives and providing advice regarding transaction opportunities within Europe.

In addition to this he will provide advisory clients with support.

Blackstone’s president and COO, Tony James, has stated that the appointment underlines the commitment the firm has towards France.

James went on to welcome Errera to the organisation, praising his track record of experience on the international scene.
