The Co-operative Bank’s unique fixed rate platinum credit card has been relaunched.

The card now has a competitive five year fixed rate of 9.9% APR, and offers up to 46 days of interest free credit.

No annual fee will be charged for the card, which allows 90 free days to acquire protection insurance and provides £100,000 travel accident insurance when used to buy tickets in addition to an emergency cash/card replacement service and 24 hour medical and legal support when abroad.

As part of the Customers Who Care scheme, for every £100 spent on the card, 1.25p will be given to the campaign fund which focuses upon a new ethical issue annually.

This year’s campaign issue is human rights, but in the past other topics such as landmines and climate change have been supported through the fund.

Co-operative Bank’s unsecured lending chief, David Fawell, explained that the card is a good prospect for consumers not wishing to constantly flit from card to card given the current economic climate as the rate remains fixed for five years.

To be eligible for the platinum card you must earn over £25,000 per annum and be over 25.
