Credit Suisse appoints Americas IB leader

Investment bank Credit Suisse has announced the appointment of James Walker as MD and head of Americas Investment Banking Operations.

Walker joins Credit Suisse from Barclays Capital, where he served as chief financial officer for the Americas region.

Earlier in his career he spent over a decade with Merrill Lynch, latterly as chief financial officer of Global Markets and Investment Banking.

In addition to this, he will also take on leadership of the firm’s Global OTC Operations, making him responsible for operational support for OTC derivatives, foreign exchange, loans and commodities across the globe.

In his new post Walker will be based in New York and be directly responsible to the head of Global Investment Banking Operations, Gary Bullock.

Bullock has welcomed Walker’s appointment, praising his experience of leadership and strategic insight.
