Morgan Stanley has announced the appointment of Benjamin Babcock as MD and head of Restructuring for EMEA.

He brings with him two decades of financial services experience, and joins from Merrill Lynch where he served for two years as head of European restructuring.

Earlier in his career he held similar roles with Lazard and Ernst & Young.

Babcock assumes his London-based role with immediate effect, and will be responsible for catering to restructuring clients’ advisory and capital markets needs.

He will collaborate with his North American counterpart, Blake O’Dowd, who joined Morgan Stanley in late 2007.

Babcock will be directly responsible to Gavin MacDonald, MD and global leader for Mergers & Acquisitions.

MacDonald has warmly welcomed Babcock to the firm and praised his in-depth experience of complex restructurings.
