The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has launched a new website for young adults.

It takes the form of a one-stop money information shop and has been created as part of the authority’s National Strategy for Financial Capability.

According to the latest research, more than two-thirds of young people are not planning ahead financially and 80% of young adults are in debt by the age of 21.

Whataboutmoney.info has been created in consultation with young people and is designed to guide and inform, while at the same time tackle the barriers that may prevent young people learning more about financial matters.

The site contains pages on different life stages and provides information on the key challenges that young adults meet in managing money.

The FSA’s director for financial capability, Chris Pond, says the regulator wants to provide information that young people can trust in a way that engages and interests them.

The website has been developed in partnership with social inclusion charity YouthNet, which specialises in communication skills with young adults.
