Russia’s largest private investment bank, Troika Dialog, has announced that Kanako Sekine has been appointed as managing director and chief operating officer at the firm’s private equity business, Troika Capital Partners.

Before joining the firm she worked for European Bank for Reconstruction and Development as director of the Financial Institutions Team.

The president of Troika Capital Partners, Serguei Skvortsov, has stated that Russia has seen a substantial growth in private equity in recent times, and that he predicts this will continue.

Skvortsov went on to praise Sekine’s unique experience and knowledge of the East European and CIS marketplace would provide the firm with new capabilities and a fresh perspective.

In her new role as chief operating officer Sekine will be tasked with increasing the amount collected from international investors to be put into the Russian private equity market.

Supervising daily operations will also be one of her responsibilities, including administration of legal and financial matters and portfolio management.
