Wachovia Securities appoint chief investment officer

Tom McManus has been named by Wachovia Securities as the firm’s new chief investment officer and director of Advisory Services.

McManus brings extensive experience to his new role, having been chief investment strategist and MD at Banc of America Securities.

During his career he has also worked for Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs & Co.

The Advisory Services Group he will now lead is tasked with the setting of the overarching policy and strategy utilised by the firm’s advisors to provide its clientele with objective, comprehensive advice about investment.

McManus will report jointly to Brand Meyer and Peter Miller, who are co-presidents of the Financial Services Group.

Daniel J. Ludeman, the chief executive officer and president of Wachovia Securities, has stated that the firm is extremely impressed with McManus’ track record and experience.
