Investment bank Credit Suisse has indicated its desire to bolster its presence in Central and Eastern Europe by beefing up its position in Poland.

The firm has stated its intention to re-establish its Warsaw-based equity trading capabilities and enlarging the research coverage available to Polish companies.

Since 1992 the firm has offered investment banking services in Poland, and last year established a private banking presence in the country.

Central Europe CEO Michael RĂ¼diger has described Poland as key to Credit Suisse’s strategic growth in Central Europe, which has great potential for growth itself.

Marek Gul, Poland CEO and Central and Eastern Europe chairman, added that the decision to enhance the presence in Poland reflected the country’s regional importance in economic and financial market terms.
