Blackstone Group opens Beijing office

Financial services firm The Blackstone Group has announced that it is opening a representative office in China.

The new office will be led by chief representative Shan Fu.

Fu joined the firm this year, prior to which he worked for Beijing Mainstreets Investment Group as vice president.

During his career he has also served with the National Development and Reform Commission of China, in addition to the Office of Production of the State Council of China, the State Economic of Trade Commission of China and other similar posts.

Blackstone’s co-founder and chief executive officer, Stephen Schwarzman, has welcomed Fu to the firm.

Schwarzman also stated that the opening of the representative office underlines the firm’s commitment to the emerging world superpower.
