David K. Zwiener has been named as Wachovia’s new chief financial officer, and will join the firm on 1 October.
Equipped with more than three decades of experience in the financial services industry, Zwiener was most recently with The Carlyle Group as MD and co-head of the Financial Institutions Group.
Earlier in his career he worked for The Hartford Financial Services Group as as executive vice president and chief financial officer, and president and chief operating officer of property and casualty operations.
As chief financial officer, he will be tasked with management and planning of the treasury, budgeting, financial reporting, investor relations, taxation, real estate operations and purchasing.
When Zwiener assumes his new position Jerry Enos, head of the Operations and Technology division, will report to him.
In his new position with Wachovia, he will report to Robert K. Steel, president and chief executive officer.
Zwiener has proven to be a strong and experienced leader, Steel has stated, and is exactly the right candidate to take on the role of chief financial officer with the firm.
