Credit Suisse has recruited Ambassador David Mulford to serve in the newly created post of International vice-chairman.

Mulford will be tasked with working with a range of clients, particularly corporate and government clients, and begins his stint at the firm with immediate effect.

CEO Brady Dougan has heaped praise upon Mulford’s great experience, as he has more than three decades of investment banking and government service experience to draw upon in his new position.

Mulford has previously worked for the Swiss investment bank, and has expressed his pleasure at returning to his old firm.

He has most recently served as the USA’s ambassador to India, and over the course of the five years he spent in the job the US and India deepened their co-operation in a range of important fields.

Earlier in his career Mulford also held senior positions with the US Treasury.
