John Chambers has been named by Merriman Curhan Ford Group, Inc. as the firm’s new head of its investment banking group.
He first joined the firm in August of last year, leaving behind Rodman & Renshaw where he served as co-head of investment banking.
During the course of his career he has also held positions in the upper echelons of healthcare and biotechnology banking with SG Cowen, Lehman Brothers, UBS and Salomon Smith Barney.
Chambers is promoted from his post as head of Health Care investment banking and succeeds Brock Ganeles, who himself has been promoted to become president of the brokerage division.
Jon Merriman, chief executive officer, has praised Chambers’ instrumental role in the reconstruction of Merriman Curhan Ford’s Health Care banking practice, adding that his leadership and advice will support clients and bankers in the CleanTech and Consumer/Internet/Media practices.
