Gary G. Lynch has been named by Morgan Stanley as the bank’s new vice chairman.
He joined the firm four years ago as executive VP and chief legal officer, leaving behind the executive vice chairman post he held with Credit Suisse.
Lynch will retain his present position of chief legal officer and transfer to London, where his collaborative efforts with the firm’s senior management on policy and strategy will continue.
He will focus upon the key regional clients, and join the boards of regional subsidiaries.
The bank’s chief executive officer, John J. Mack, has expressed his pleasure at Lynch taking on the new role, and praised the newly appointed vice chairman’s judgement and leadership skills.
Mack went on to pay tribute to Lynch’s deliverance of excellent results from the legal and compliance divisions as well as the successful transformation to a financial holding company.
