The Royal Bank of Scotland is seeking to attract this year’s university graduates with its Graduate Royalties account, which is aimed at helping students manage their finances during their first three years at work. The account provides a three year interest-free stepped overdraft facility of up to £2,000 or the option of an interest-free loan of up to £2,000. In addition, there are a number of other financial and lifestyle benefits.

Students can use the interest free loan of up to £2,000 to repay an existing graduate overdraft over three years. An application must be made by the June of the 2nd year following graduation, with repayment due by the end of the third year after graduation. Graduate loans of up to £15,000 are also available, at preferential rates. Other benefits include deferred payments of up to 12 months and special offers on mortgages. There is also a 10% discount on car insurance and certain selected holidays, plus a fee free American Express Travellers Cheque Card. For those with entertainment in mind, the account provides a 25% dining discount at over 450 UK restaurants when booked online, 25% off selected theatre and concert tickets, discounts on certain DVDs, videos, computer games and CDs and a 20% discount on more than one million books.
