European Banking Programme set to continue

by Richard Kilner

Story link: European Banking Programme set to continue

The 10-day European Banking Programme, supported by the IFS School of Finance, has received confirmation that it is to be continued for a minimum of a further two years.

The programme, which is sponsored by the EU and Erasmus, involves five universities (Loughborough in the UK, Liechtenstein, Cyprus, Malta and Riga in Latvia) collaborating together by sending half a dozen students to each annual conference, which is hosted by one of the five universities.

Working together in pairs, the students submit a piece of written work and give a presentation relating to their nation’s fund management industry.

Following this they then discuss the differences and similarities between one another’s countries, specifically focusing upon legal, practice and market spheres.

Also, the students are involved in debating concepts of innovation and a broad variety of management issues from performance to risk management.

During the programme the students will have lectures, the chance to meet industry professionals and company visits.
