Investment bank Credit Suisse has announced two appointments to strengthen the Credit Suisse Private Equity Asia (CSPEA) team.
Steven Kwok and Sokho Jung both assume the position of managing director, and are granted supervisory duties, with Kwok responsible for Greater China and Jung handling Korea.
Kwok joins the firm from Bear Stearns Private Equity where he worked as senior MD and leader of the Eagle China Retail and Consumer Fund.
During his career he has also worked for UBS Capital, Orchid Asia (an Asian private equity fund) and The Carlyle Group.
Jung leaves behind Standard Chartered Private Equity where, for the last six years, he has been responsible for Korea.
Prior to working for Standard Chartered, he was with Lone Star Advisors Korea, and prior to that GIC Special Investment.
Both will report directly to Harjit Bhatia, CSPEA’s chief, and will be based in Hong Kong.
Bhatia has welcomed the appointments, describing private equity in Asia as a continuing growth area that Credit Suisse would retain its focus upon.
In their new roles Kwok and Jung will be tasked with leading origination and advice provided in the sphere of private equity opportunities.
