Evercore Partners Inc. has announced the appointment of Admiral Sir James Burnell-Nugent as a strategic adviser to the firm’s Advisory business.

Admiral Sir James will be based in Evercore’s London office, and brings with him tremendous experience having been Commander-in-Chief Fleet of the Royal Navy until earlier in this year.

He has unparalleled experience of both a strategic and operational nature, has commanded HMS Invincible (an aircraft carrier) and was responsible for 40,000 men in 104 ships when he held the post of Maritime Commander of the UK Joint Force and Deputy Maritime Commander of the Coalition Force.

Bernard Taylor, vice chairman of Evercore Partners and chief executive of Evercore Partners Limited, has expressed his delight at the netting the nautical big fish, praising the admiral’s wealth of experience.
