International investment bank Houlihan Lokey has announced the appointment of Florus Plantenga as a director in the London office.

He joins the firm from Société Générale Corporate and Investment Banking, where he served in London and Paris for the last five years.

Earlier in his career he also worked for investment banks Merrill Lynch, JP Morgan and Kleinwort Benson.

Plantenga will be tasked with responsibility for European Private Equity coverage, which is an important part of the firm’s growth strategy in private equity.

Houlihan Lokey is seeing a tremendous amount of European activity, according to Senior Managing Director and head of the Financial Sponsors Coverage Group John Mavredakis.

Mavredakis went on to say that Plantenga has vast knowledge of the area and would be integral to the firm’s European expansion ambitions.

Plantenga has expressed his own delight to be joining the investment bank, adding that he was looking forward to the job.
