Wachovia Insurance Services has announced the appointment of Luther Lockwood to the post of managing principal of for Wachau Insurance Services Inc., formerly Barry, Evans, Josephs and Snipes.

Wachau Insurance Services is affiliated with M Financial Group, and is a unit of Wachovia Insurance Services.

Its previous name of Barry, Evans, Josephs and Snipes (BEJS) was sold to a former principal of the firm, with the new name being taken from part of the Austrian Danube Valley.

It was when Wachovia first acquired BEJS in 1999 that Lockwood joined the firm.

In his new position Lockwood will be tasked with developing, enacting and administrating large wealth transfer plans for high net worth clients, in addition to providing corporate clients with executive benefit plans.

Jon Curley, MD of the Life and Personal Insurance Marketing Group, has stated that the firm is excited to have Lockwood leading Wachau.
