Yesterday Deutsche Bank announced that it was to establish a Middle East research platform, which is expected to be the biggest within the region.

Pascal Moura, the research chief for emerging markets, is to lead the new enterprise.

He first joined the German bank six years ago and, before attaining his current position, led the firm’s European Mid-Cap Research.

Moura is to relocate to Dubai, and supervise the research facility’s creation for the two year establishment period.

The research platform’s duties will be twofold. Firstly, it is to support Deutsche Bank Global Research, and secondly it is to focus its attention on the 80 top blue-chip stocks across the Middle East.

Deutsche Bank’s chief country officer for the United Arab Emirates, Ricardo Honegger, explained that the firm’s commitment to the region was unequivocal and that the new research facility was a sign of that.
