Investment bank Credit Suisse has announced the appointment of Stefan Keitel as chief investment officer of its Private Banking business and chairman of the Credit Suisse Investment Committee.

He has worked for Credit Suisse for the last eight years, and five years ago was named chief investment officer of the firm’s German businesses.

Last year he was promoted to become chief investment officer for Central Europe over all divisions.

Keitel’s appointment takes place with immediate effect, and will make him responsible for providing consistent investment opinions and offering all client segments asset allocation advice.

He will report directly to Arthur Vayloyan and Daniel Brupbacher, head of Private Banking Investment Services and Products and Asset Management Multi Asset Class Solutions respectively.

Keitel will collaborate closely with Giles Keating, global Research chief for Private Banking and vice chairman of the Investment Committee.
