Investment bank Credit Suisse has announced the appointment of Neil Harvey as MD and head of Asia Pacific, and as global head of Emerging Markets for Asset Management.

Harvey will be based in Hong Kong and take up his new role from 1 February, reporting to Robert Shafir, Asset Management CEO and Kai Nargolwala, Asia Pacific CEO.

He has been involved in asset management and investment banking for almost a quarter of a century and joins Credit Suisse from Renaissance Group, where he served as deputy chief executive officer and International chairman.

Earlier in his career he co-founded multi-strategy hedge fund Bennelong Asset Management, which focused upon the Asia Pacific region.

Harvey returns to Credit Suisse having previously spent a decade with the firm, during which time he held a number of posts including heading up the Investment Banking division when based in Hong Kong.
