WestLB reports moderate profits

German bank WestLB has posted its financial results for 2008. The firm recorded a pre-tax profit of €26m, a significant improvement on its 2007 loss of almost €1.5bn, leaving a post-tax profit of €18m. CPI confounds forecasts and rises to 3.2%
