Jefferies has announced the appointment of David Owen as MD and chief European financial economist within the Fixed Income Group.
He joins the firm from Dresdner Kleinwort, where he worked as chief economist for Developed Markets at the end of a 23 stint with the bank.
As part of his new role Owen will be tasked with forecasting and examining European government debt market trends, and similar trends across fixed income markets globally.
Owen will collaborate with Dr. Ward McCarthy, chief financial economist, and be responsible to Domenico Crapanzano, European Rates Sales & Trading head.
President of Jefferies International David Weaver described Owen’s appointment as an important step for the firm as it continues to enhance its international fixed income sales and trading platform.
Weaver went on to pay tribute to Owen’s reputation in the sector, his extensive experience and his in-depth expertise.
