International investment bank Houlihan Lokey has announced the appointment of Weimin Chen as managing director and head of China.
Chen will assume responsibility for supervision of the firm’s investment banking operations in mainland China and help develop the corporate finance, financial advisory and financial restructuring businesses.
Prior to his latest position, Chen worked for Lazard China for a number of years, where he was general manager and director of the Beijing office.
Earlier in his career he worked for Trina Solar Limited as chief financial officer, DBS Bank in Hong Kong and ABN Amro Corporate Finance in Hong Kong.
David Putnam, MD and head of Asia, described the appointment as a significant step to strengthen Houlihan Lokey’s Chinese business.
