Private investment bank, Rothschild, has appointed Sir John Rose as deputy chairman.
Sir John will join the board of Rothschilds Continuation Holdings AG, the major international operating company within the group, at the beginning of October.
Working closely with executive chairman, David de Rothschild, he will be involved in shaping strategic direction, developing the bank’s international profile and, in particular, deepening the business in the world’s leading growth markets.
The ex-Rolls Royce chief executive left his previous post in March 2011, having joined the company in 1984.
In addition to a knighthood, Sir John is a Commandeur de la Légion d’Honneur in France and has been awarded the Public Service Star in Singapore.
Announcing the appointment, David de Rothschild said: “I am delighted that Sir John has chosen to join the Rothschild Group … he is one of Europe’s foremost business leaders and he will bring to Rothschild, and our clients, the experience gained in developing a great industrial company with a track of record of success around the world.”
Sir John responded: “After spending most of my career in the quoted sector I am looking forward to working in a private company, which – like Rolls-Royce – takes a long-term view.”
