At the end of the year that saw him resign as Liberal Democrat leader, Sir Menzies Campbell has joined the Scottish American Investment Company, also referred to as Saints, having been appointed to the £450m investment trust’s board.

Sir Menzies becomes a director with immediate effect.

The board’s chairman, Sir Brian Ivory, has expressed his delight at the addition of Sir Menzies to the board.

Sir Brian praised Sir Menzies for his extensive political, international and current affairs knowledge, which would, he said, be of great value to the organisation.

Sir Menzies also has a good knowledge of the legal system, having been an advocate prior to his political career.
