Dutch bank ING is to name Patrickk Flynn as the firm’s new chief financial officer (CFO).

The Supervisory Board plans to nominate the 49 year old Irishman to join the Executive Board at the bank’s AGM in April, and should he join the Board Flynn will take up the role of CFO.

He would succeed John Hele, who is leaving the bank and moving to the US for family reasons. Hele will become CFO of Arch Capital Group upon his move.

At present Flynn leads HSBC’s London-based worldwide Insurance operations, and has also served as CFO of HSBC’s South American banking and insurance businesses.

During the 20 years he has spent with HSBC he has occupied a large number of senior roles, including senior manager of HSBC Group Finance and head of International Finance Control.
