International middle market investment bank Piper Jaffray Ltd. has announced the appointment of Torben Vest as principal of its equity sales team.

Vest brings with him over two decades of experience in both the US and Europe of institutional equity sales.

Before his appointment he worked for Carnegie Bank in Copenhagen in equity sales, and was directly responsible to the firm’s chief executive officer.

He also has sales experience with Deutsche Bank and the Dutch firm ING, as well as working in equity research for Standard & Poor’s.

Piper Jaffray Chief Executive Officer David Wilson explained that Vest’s appointment underlined the firm’s ongoing commitment to both the US and European markets.

Wilson added that Piper Jaffray was continually looking to hire the best it could, and that Vest’s extensive experience would prove beneficial to both his colleagues and clients.
