Alliance Bank Malaysia Bhd has announced its intention to increase its number of branches by six over the course of the next three years.

At present the bank operates from 14 branches in Johor, and 170 across the country.

Datuk Bridget Lai, group CEO, attributed the plans to the Iskandar Development Region, which has caused rapid economic expansion in the country.

Her announcement was made at the opening ceremony for the firm’s 14th branch, which has received investment of around RM3m.

However, it is not clear exactly how much investment each of the half dozen new branches would receive, though it is expected to vary from an upper estimate of RM5m down to RM200,000.
