Russia’s VTB Group has announced the appointment of Herbert Moos as the new chief executive officer of VTB Bank Europe plc., which falls under the umbrella of the Group’s Investment Business.

He leaves behind his role as chief financial officer of Asia-Pacific (less Japan) with US investment bank Lehman Brothers, where he worked for 14 years.

Moos, who was also Treasurer for Asia with Lehman Brothers, began working for the investment bank in the London office and played an instrumental role in enhancing the firm’s investment banking presence in Asia.

In his new role, Moos will be tasked with developing the firm’s presence in London, the Middle East and Asia.

He will be responsible to VTB Capital’s chief executive officer, Yuri Soloviev, who also served as the head of the Investment Business.

Soloviev has welcomed his appointment, praising Moos as an outstanding banker with an excellent track record.
