Russian investment bank Troika Dialog Group and South African firm Standard Bank have announced that their partnership is to be formalised, pending regulatory approval, in Russia, South Africa and the United Kingdom.

Standard Bank has a 33% stake in Troika Dialog, and the South African bank’s Russian operations (ZAO Standard Bank) have been merged into its partner.

The announcement of the strategic partnership was first made in March of this year.

Within Russia itself both firms will work under the Troika Dialog brand.

The partnership has formed Strategic and Operations Committees in order to best identify potential synergies and business opportunities afforded by the collaboration of the two firms.

Jacko Maree, CEO of Standard Bank, explained that by working together both banks would benefit from Standard Bank’s global reach and Troika Dialog’s in-depth knowledge and experience of Russia.
