JPMorgan appoint Government Relations leader

JPMorgan Chase has announced the appointment of Peter L. Scher to the post of executive vice president of Global Government Relations and Public Policy.

Scher’s appointment is effective from 16 June, and will see him responsible for supervision of State, Federal and International Government Relations.

In his capacity serving the Executive Committee he will report to William Daley.

At present he is the managing partner of law firm Mayer Brown, LLP’s Washington DC office.

Earlier in his career Scher occupied a variety of senior level jobs in Congress.

Scher has expressed his delight at his appointment, and Daley has welcomed him to the firm, praising his wealth of experience.
