UniCredit Markets & Investment Banking has bolstered its Equity Capital Markets (ECM) team with the recruitment of three new managers.

Christian Steffens is appointed as worldwide deputy leader for ECM, with Mark Coxon named as global chief of Equity and Equity-Linked Syndicate.

Earlier in his career Steffens has worked for Lehman Brothers in their German Equity Capital Markets, in addition to Merrill Lynch and S.G. Warburg.

Tijs Jansen joins ECM Origination as a senior originator.

Joining UniCredit, Jansen leaves behind ABN Amro Equity Capital Markets where he has worked for the last nine years.

Both Steffens and Coxon assume their roles with immediate effect, with Jansen joining on 1 August.

The trio will be employed by HVB London, where they will be responsible to Mike Hammond.

Hammond has recently been made a member of the executive committee and appointed as co-head of Markets.

He explained that the ECM team had been strengthened as it was a crucial part of the firm’s growing capital markets business.
